In The Moment Acting Classes are based foremost on becoming a better listener, and then allowing your individual experiences and responses to become a part of your work, which results in more authenticity and creativity as an actor. Using exercises, cold-reading, scene work, and monologues in a nurturing and supportive environment, beginners to advanced actors have a safe place to grow. In The Moment is primarily based on Eric Morris teachings, but also includes Meisner techniques as well as exercises created by prestigious acting teacher Alan Feinstein (Feinstein-Tuerpe) in Los Angeles. These techniques will replace fear with fun in your auditions, and change the way you approach rehearsals.

January 5th - February 23d, 2008 SHOWCASE: Monday, March 2nd 7:30A lot of acting classes focus on "cold reading" skills and "how to get the part," but many times actors don't know what to do once they've actually landed that coveted role in a play or film! This class assumes you already know how to act, but maybe could use some guidance when it comes to bringing the role to life. Only actors with prior Training and/or experience (1 Year minimum) are invited to participate in this Class & Showcase.
CLASSES will culminate in An ACTOR SHOWCASE of scenes (10-15 mins.) to be held March 2nd at a performance venue in the Twin Cities. We anticipate agents, casting people, directors and other actors will be in attendance. Students will be issued assignments related to varying methods of preparing for their roles. The first 30 minutes of each class will be dedicated to warm-up exercises or reviewing assignments, with the balance of class time used to block, direct and rehearse the scenes, using the rehearsal process as an open forum to discuss issues related to rehearsing, preparation, critique and performing. Some classes will be videotaped & reviewed.
If there is a scene you've always wanted to perform, this could be the class for you! Actors will be given a few choices from the instructor, but are asked to provide some material they have selected as options.

We'll be doing cold-readings of scenes, as well as more prepared 2-person scene work.
